There seems to be a lot of buzz about backgammon these days – maybe because Father’s Day is on the horizon. Still one of the best-selling oomph pieces, the popularity of our backgammon table continues to surprise us as it is ordered and shipped around the world.
Cartier’s – the iconic jeweler, thought it was pretty special too! They called us to borrow a backgammon table to launch their new men’s watch. We were pretty excited about it and, of course, raced to the rescue with a table for the event. We can’t wait to see the results! Stay tuned for pictures.
We knew backgammon was an ancient game, dating back some five thousand years to Mesopotamia. In the 1920s, Sir Leonard Woolley, a British archaeologist, excavated the Biblical home of Abraham. In the royal cemetery he found game boards bearing a resemblance to our backgammon boards of today. . . Roll the tape forward.
We made a discovery too! Backgammon is an incredibly popular game to quite a few Hollywood types.
